Telamon Corporation, founded by Mr. Albert Chen in 1985, is headquartered in Carmel, Indiana with 500+ employees, six branch offices across North America and multiple locations in China. Telamon is a technology company providing product service life cycle and business solutions to their customers.  In appreciation of the support received from the community, Telamon has sponsored a high school scholarship program for IACA members since 1994.  In 2012, IACA, with the continuous generosity of Mr. Chen, IACA has expanded the scholarship program to include all students in grades 6 through 12 who are residents of Indiana.   IACA (Indiana Association of Chinese Americans) administers the IACA Telamon Scholarship.

 

The purposes of the scholarship are:

  1. To initiate and provide an opportunity to nurture young Chinese-Americans to become leaders in promoting Chinese heritage as well as valuable US citizens
  2. To engage Indiana students who are interested in China and in Chinese American culture

 

Awards:

  • High school applicants will have the opportunity to win a scholarship of up to $500
  • Middle school applicants will have an opportunity to win a scholarship up to $200

 

Who may apply:  Applicant must meet one of the categories below:

  • Student of an IACA family who has just completed grade 9-12
  • Student who is an Indiana resident and interested in China and issues relating to Chinese Americans, who has just completed grade 9-12
  • Chinese American student, or a student of an IACA family who has just completed grade 6-8

 

Deadline:

All application material must be Email date stamped or postmarked by July 22, 2015.

 

Award information:

Winners will be announced by August 2, 2015. The committee is planning to award the scholarships and prizes at a special awards ceremony on August 16, 2015.  Details will follow.

 

Permission for publication:

As we are proud of our winners, IACA reserves the right to publish, distribute, archive or use it in print, online or other format.  Author may request in writing to withhold from publishing or published anonymously.
