New Stadium for Noblesville High School
Noblesville High School has announced plans for a new football stadium. Our
partners at WISH-TV report the stadium will feature 50% more seating,
expanded concessions and restrooms, as well as on-site parking.

Indianapolis Cultural Trail to Expand
For the first time in its nearly 10-year history, the Indianapolis Cultural
Trail will undergo its first major expansion. Indianapolis Cultural Trail
Inc. says the effort is being led by a $20 million grant from
Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc.

Speedway Details 25-Acre ‘Gateway’ Project
Officials in Speedway have announced plans for a major mixed-use project
that will serve as a gateway to the town. Founders Square would be a 25-acre
development featuring a new hotel and conference center, retailers and
restaurants.

Air Force Awards Purdue $6M for Wind Tunnel Project
Purdue University has been awarded a nearly $6 million contract from the Air
Force Research Laboratory to develop the first quiet Mach 8 wind tunnel in
the world. The wind tunnel will support efforts in the field of hypersonic
research, which the university says is a top priority for the U.S.
Department of Defense.

Contour Airlines Coming to Indy Airport
A new airline is coming to the Indianapolis International Airport.
Tennessee-based Contour Airlines has announced plans to establish an
aircraft base at the airport with three new domestic routes, and create up
to 55 jobs by the end of 2023.

Good Samaritan Chosen for Clinical Study
Vincennes-based Good Samaritan hospital has been chosen to participate in
Magnet4Europe, described as the largest international clinical study to
date. The initiative is a European Commission-funded, randomized trial to
redesign hospitals to improve employee mental health, retention of medical
personnel and patient safety.

Purdue, Elanco Detail Research Partnership
Two Hoosier research powerhouses are joining forces. Greenfield-based Elanco
Animal Health Inc. (NYSE: ELAN) and Purdue University have announced a
four-year research agreement, which the university says will involve
collaboration and training talent “as they seek solutions to some of the
greatest challenges in animal health.” Purdue adds the agreement includes
the potential for a variety of research collaborations and intellectual
property opportunities.

Purdue Professor to Discuss Climate Change with Pope
Purdue Professor John Sheffield has discussed the role of hydrogen as a
means for a sustainable energy future with students and colleagues, and will
add a different audience this week: Pope Francis. The engineering technology
professor is a member of a delegation planning to discuss climate change
with the pope on Friday.

Farmers More Optimistic As China Trade Deal Signed
Agricultural producers across the country seem much more optimistic about
the future of the ag economy ever since President Trump signed the Phase One
Trade Agreement with China. The Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy
Barometer rose 17 points from December.

Amazon Planning Hancock County Facility, 1,000 Jobs
Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) is looking to establish another major
facility in central Indiana. According to a construction permit filed with
the state late last month, the online retail giant plans to occupy a shell
building in Hancock County and create up to 1,000 jobs.

Boilers Buzzing about Bee Honey Biz
There has been a series of food products produced by students within Purdue
University’s College Agriculture, ranging from beer to beef. This year, they
have another “B” product – Boiler Bee Honey. The departments of food science
and entomology have collaborated on the honey project, collected from bees
in the Purdue apiary and processed and bottled in the food science pilot
plant.
