IU Collaborates With Big Ten Schools for Free Courses

BLOOMINGTON – Undergraduate students from Indiana University now have access
to online courses from several out-of-state universities which are
participating in the Big Ten Academic Alliance, with all tuition and fees
waived.

The alliance was created to give additional educational opportunities to
registered students during the pandemic.

“Big Ten universities compete on the field, but until this fight against
COVID-19 is won, we are united in the critical research to battle this
virus, and united in the classroom,” said Lauren Robel, Indiana University
Bloomington provost.

Robel also serves as executive vice president and chair of the Big Ten
Academic Alliance board.

Available courses range from Supply Chain Security and Risk Management to
Intro to Sports Marketing and Management.

“By increasing the number of credit hours available for our undergraduate
students within the banded tuition rate, we’re giving them more flexibility
to create the schedule that works best for them,” Robel said.

In addition to IU Bloomington, other institutions include:

* University of Maryland
* Michigan State University
* University of Nebraska-Lincoln
* The Ohio State University
* Pennsylvania State University
* Rutgers University-New Brunswick

IU says the Big Ten Academic Alliance helped keep students on track for
graduation, moving thousands of courses online.
